Butuan City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) turns-over 13.8 million worth of Capital Seed Fund (CSF) to Butuan City today, December 19, 2014 at the People’s Hall, City Hall, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

“Our activity today is a simple reminder of our genuine partnership towards ending poverty in the Region. The Department through the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Butuan City has afforded you financial assistance so you could manage well and sustain your proposed micro-enterprises,” Mr. Roy R. Serdeña, SLP Regional Program Coordinator shared.

A total of 13, 812, 308.00 php was given to 45 SEA-Ks in Butuan City. 11, 620,000.00 php of it is from the CSF and 2, 192, 307.70 php is from the Buttom-Up-Budgeting (BUB) or known before as the Grassroots Participatory Budgeting Process (GPBP).

“The LGU is grateful with the help extended by the DSWD Caraga to the City of Butuan. Our partnership has given us the opportunity to see the clearer picture of Butuan on 2020,” Hon. Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr., City Mayor of Butuan relayed.

“Sana po ay gamitin natin sa mabuting paraan ang mga kaalamang ating natutunan sa mga pagpupulong na atin pong pinagsaluhan. Paunang bahagi lamang po iyan ng ating pag-angat tungo sa buhay na masagana,” Serdeña closed.

The said activity was attended by Hon. Lawrence Lemuel H. Fortun, Representative of the first district, Hon. Ferdinand M. Amante, Jr., City Mayor of Butuan, Hon. Ferdinand E. Nalcot, City Councilor and Chairman of the City Committee on Social Services, Mr. Roy R. Serdeña being the representative of the DSWD Caraga Regional Director Dr. Minda B. Brigoli, CESO III, Barangay Captains of the 11 barangays, and partner-beneficiaries (###DSWDFOCaraga###).
