Choice 1Welcome to the DSWD Field Office Caraga Website, relevant pieces of information about the Department’s programs, projects, social protection and delivery of social welfare services in the whole region comprising five provinces namely: Agusan del Norte; Agusan del Sur; Surigao del Norte; Surigao del Sur; and the Province of Dinagat Island are posted here.

For the last month of the previous year we have delivered the services set before us as our region faced the destruction brought by tropical storm “Seniang”. We have reactivated our Quick Response Team immediately after the region was placed under Public Storm Warning Signal last December 28, 2014 at 7:00AM. As a whole, we have done our part in ensuring that the affected families are well served at the time it was most needed.

As we begin today a new year in the life of our region, let us embrace 2015 as it will provide another excellent opportunity for us to strengthen the gains of development, explore avenues of cooperation, and reinforce our ties with partners and stakeholders both internal and external. Let us do it with great confidence. Surely this year will bring another course of challenges and opportunities, but as we grow in strength, I am 125% positive that we can make it a lot better than the previous years.

There are still many pending problems, but with great hope and with immense confidence and assurance that 2015, the year of the “Green Sheep” will be a good year for our region and for our country.

Our dear Secretary Corazon Juliano – Soliman said and I quote,

“… that we keep encouraging and facilitating processes to help the people to be proud of the changes that they have made in their life. We too should be proud partners of the people. We should not allow the naysayers to dishearten us…

…In this journey, we can get tired and we can get irritated with each other. We can lose patience and we can turn to each other in anger especially if the collective effort is not working. I would ask that we try to be kinder to each other; to be honest with one another; kindness is based on respect and truthful interaction; to help one another in the sometimes difficult task of delivering the programs and projects to the families and communities in poverty.”

Our work is a demand of love – selfless love for others. Let us do whatever love calls us to do even if it costs pain sometimes, yet we all agree that the reward from love is not here – it will be there up high and it will be worth all the sacrifices.

Keep those fires burning to be of help for others – that passion to be able to do something for others is the greatest motivation of all.

May this page be a useful site in informing you that we, in the field office Caraga are always performing our tasks in all the best that we can. Our staff and field office workers are competent enough to deliver the excellence of service that the Department endeavours to convey. May the stories inspire you as we feature our beneficiaries as they exceeded the level of their well – being.
