The Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga announced on Friday the winners of its Regional Disaster Response Committee (RDRC) Logo Making Contest and Spoken Poetry, which were part in the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2021 celebration.

Jheff Reyes, 1st placer of the Spoken Poetry Competition, was represented by his coach who received the prizes on his behalf. 

For the RDRC Logo Making Contest, Adrian G. Cubillas of Butuan Central School of Arts and Trades, won the 1st Place, while Gwynneth l. Quinaso of Dapa National High School, and Christian A. Balasabas got the 2nd and 3rd Place, respectively.

For the Spoken Poetry tilt, Jheff Reyes of Butuan Central Elem School, bagged the 1st Place, while Patricia Jose of Jose T. Domingo St. Central Elementary School, and Fraxine Chantel Minglana of General Luna Central Elem School, won 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

Cash prizes and plaques were given as the token of their support in the observance of the NDRM. Mechanics and criteria of both competitions were in line with this year’s theme, “Tamang Pamamahala’t Kahandaan, Kaalaman, at Pagtutulungan sa Sakuna at Pandemya’y Kalasag ng Bayan”.

NDRM is observed every July of the year to reiterate the importance of understanding disaster risks, strengthening disaster risk governance, investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, enhancing preparedness for effective response, and implementing “Build Back Better” in rehabilitation and recovery.
