The Department of Social Welfare and Development is one with the state in celebrating the 2023 National Women’s Month with the recurring theme (2023-2028)

The Regional Development Council – Regional Gender and Development Committee (RDC-RGADC) chaired by the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) Caraga is spearheading the said activity in coordination with Caraga State University (CSU) as this yearโ€™s host.

On March 1, 2023 โ€“ at exactly eight o-clock in the morning, a purple parade starting from Guingona Park to CSU Ampayon Campus, marked the official launching of the said campaign and was then followed by a Zumba session upon arrival to the venue.

During the kick-off ceremony at the Kaamulan Grounds, CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil welcomed all participants, including representatives from partner-agencies. Dr. Daguil presented all the activities for the month-long celebration, such as the Wonder Women, where CSU will be recognizing outstanding women in different fields, and the Purple Your Corner, that will highlight equal opportunities for all genders.

The recurring theme aligns with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which aims for โ€œdeep economic and social transformation to reinvigorate job creation and accelerate poverty reduction by steering the economy back on a high-growth path.โ€

The plan also highlights that growth must be inclusive, building an environment that provides equal opportunities to all Filipinos and equipping them with skills to participate fully in an innovative and globally competitive economy.###(Social Marketing Section/DSWD Field Office Caraga).
