In celebration of World Day Against Child Labor, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joined other government agencies in signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to support the reactivation of the Regional Council Against Child Labor (RCACL), today, June 12, 2025 at Robinsons Place, Butuan City.Represented by Policy and Plans Division Chief Elsa Jamora, the MOA signing marks a renewed and strengthened inter-agency collaboration and signifies a unified regional approach to addressing the complex and deeply rooted issues of child labor.
The RCACL is a multi-sectoral initiative in the Philippines that seeks to eliminate child labor through coordinated action among national and local government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
As a key member of the RCACL, DSWD plays an important role in implementing social protection programs, providing support services to child laborers and their families, and ensuring that vulnerable children are given opportunities to live safe, healthy, and productive lives.
