Green Harvest!

Partner-beneficiaries of Project LAWA and BINHI in Barangay San Juan, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, are now reaping the rewards of their hard work and dedication to sustainable farming.

The photo shows lush harvests of vegetables, corn, and fruit-bearing plants flourishing in their community. This marks their very first successful corn harvest, in addition to a series of abundant yields from their communal gardens.

Project LAWA at BINHI, which stands for Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished, aims to address water and food scarcity in disaster-prone communities.

Through bountiful harvests and meaningful projects like this, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga remains steadfast in its belief that in the coming years, vulnerable communities will continue to grow stronger and more resilient through collective action.
