Statements from Mark Kevin Longos and Edelito Comon, partner-beneficiaries from Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte
“This project is truly a big help to our livelihood. Because of the vegetables we harvest, we now have both income and food on our table. This is especially helpful to some of my fellow beneficiaries who used to rely solely on their partners, but now they can also help provide for their families because they have crops to grow and harvest. We are deeply grateful to DSWD Caraga Region, the MSWDO of Del Carmen, and the DA for their assistance. We will take care of and further develop this project because it is also for our own benefit. Thank you very much!” — Mark Kevin Longos, partner-beneficiary from Barangay Antipolo.

“This project has greatly helped our livelihood. We will do our best to sustain what the government has started and given us. Now, the project will be turned over to us, and we were even paid for our work. We are truly, sincerely grateful to the DSWD! Thank you very, very much!” — Edelito Comon, partner-beneficiary from Barangay Esperanza.

It will be recalled that on June 17, a total of 350 partner-beneficiaries received their wages amounting to ₱7,700 each. Mark Kevin and Edelito are just two of the many who expressed deep gratitude for the DSWD Field Office Caraga’s Project LAWA at BINHI.
Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) aims to address food and water scarcity, especially during times of emergency.
