The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has completed the 100% disbursement of Cash-for-Work subsidies to Tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) under the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program.A total of 106 Tutors and 54 YDWs received their full payout of ₱8,700 each during the disbursement held on July 16–17, 2025, at the gymnasiums of Dapa and General Luna, Surigao del Norte. The amount corresponds to 20 days of service, computed at the regional minimum daily wage rate of ₱435.
The disbursement followed the Regional Culminating Activities of the Tara, Basa! Program in the two municipalities, where the Tutors and YDWs were deployed across 37 public elementary schools.
The payout underscores the program’s commitment to fair compensation and timely support for youth educators and community-based workers who help promote literacy, strengthen home-based learning, and foster family engagement.
Through this initiative, DSWD Caraga continues to empower youth advocates for education and civic leadership, while providing financial support as the new school year begins.
