The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga successfully hosted the Orientation on Center Management: Building Foundational Capacities for Regional Inspectorate Committees (RICs) held from July 8 to 11, 2025.The four-day activity gathered representatives from DSWD Field Offices IX, X, XI, XII, Caraga, and the Central Office as part of the Department’s continuing efforts to strengthen the management and operations of centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs).
Spearheaded by the National Inspectorate Committee (NIC), the orientation aimed to enhance the capacity of RICs—established under Administrative Order No. 8, s. 2021—in conducting pre-assessment activities that ensure CRCFs’ compliance with accreditation standards.
The orientation proved vital in reinforcing the foundational knowledge and skills needed to manage CRCFs effectively. By deepening their understanding of case management, financial and procurement processes, as well as property and infrastructure systems, the participants are better equipped to support the Department in delivering responsive and quality programs and services to clients in residential care.
This initiative affirms the DSWD’s commitment to upholding standards of care and ensuring that its facilities remain safe, accountable, and client-centered.
