The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga proudly joined the kickoff ceremony for the 37th National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM), held at the PNP-PRO 13 Grandstand, Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City.
Celebrated every July, this year’s theme is “KUMIKILOS: Kayang Umaksyon ng Mamamayan na Isabuhay ang Kahandaan ng Bawat Isa Para Maging Ligtas sa Oras ng Sakuna.” The theme emphasizes the vital role of every Filipino in fostering a culture of preparedness and proactive action during disasters.
In his message during the kickoff, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes shared insights about the agency’s mission:
“As Vice Chair for Disaster Response, I know our role is often most visible when things go wrong. But what people don’t always see is the heart work behind every prepositioning, every repacking, every coordination call. What they don’t see is how personal this is for us. Because when we respond, we don’t just bring food—we bring hope, presence, and the message that the government is here, that DSWD is here, and that they are not forgotten.”

Also present was the Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD) team, led by DRMD Chief Aldie Mae Andoy, who expressed unwavering support for strengthening the disaster resilience of every Caraganon.
DSWD Field Office Caraga reaffirms its commitment to delivering timely and compassionate assistance, consistently upholding excellence in service while working hand-in-hand with communities to build a stronger, more prepared, and resilient Caraga region.
