Cabadbaran City- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cabadbaran City, successfully conducted the 5th Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Congress on July 25, 2025, as part of the 18th Charter Day celebration of the city.
With the theme “Malungtarong Panginabuhian, Malambuong Cabadbaran,” the event gathered representatives, officers, and members of SLP Associations across the city to recognize their achievements and reinforce their contributions to local development.
City Councilor Inez Rosario Amante, representing City Mayor Judy Chin-Amante, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to supporting SLP associations. She underscored the important role of the program in helping families meet their daily needs and in providing sustainable solutions to the economic demands of the community.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the product booth exhibit and the awarding ceremony for outstanding SLP associations. The awards were based on regular monitoring and assessment conducted by the LGU, with cash incentives allocated to recognize top-performing groups.
The TRESKADAS SLP Association and Antonio Luna SLP Association awarded as high performing SLP Association and received the price of Php40,000.00. While Comagascas SLP Association received Php25,000.00 for being the Performing SLPA in the city.
In the Booth Competition, the Agricultural Booth Mix SLPA won Champion and received ₱20,000.00, followed by General Merchandise Booth Mix SLPA (2nd Place). While Production and Rice Trading Booth Mix SLPA won 3rd and 4th Place respectively. All incentives received by the winners are from LGU Cabadbaran.
Additionally, the event served as a platform for SLP participants to showcase their products and services, build market connections, explore new business opportunities, and strengthen partnerships within the SLP community.
The 5th SLP Congress stands as a strong testament to the enduring partnership between DSWD and LGU Cabadbaran, reflecting their shared commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development and the continuous upliftment of local communities through the Sustainable Livelihood Program.
