In line with the upcoming National Disability Rights Week (NDRW) 2025 celebration, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) hosted a two-day Table Validation on July 14 and 15, 2025, at the DSWD Conference Hall. The activity was part of the screening process for the Search for the Most Disability Friendly Local Government Units (LGUs) 2025.
A total of 17 LGUs participated in the validation, comprising two entries from the provincial level, two from the city level, and thirteen from the municipal level. The submitted Means of Verification (MOVs) by each LGU were carefully assessed by the Most Disability Friendly (MDF) Technical Working Group.
The validation team was composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) as the lead agency, together with the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the DSWD.
The evaluation aimed to determine how effectively LGUs are implementing inclusive programs and services that uphold the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities, serving as a benchmark for recognizing outstanding efforts in local governance.
