A total of 177,863 beneficiaries of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SocPen) Program in the Caraga Region have received their pension for the second quarter of 2025 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga.
As of this quarter, 96.30% of the target beneficiaries under DSWD Field Office Caraga’s SocPen Program have already claimed their Php 3,000 stipend each, amounting to a total disbursement of Php 533,589,000.00.
The Regional Social Pension Unit (RSPU) reminds all beneficiaries to closely coordinate with their Local Social Welfare and Development Office (LSWDO) for payout schedules. They are also encouraged to reach out to their Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) or senior citizens’ chapter presidents for more information.
To ensure smooth and successful payouts, beneficiaries are advised to stay at home, remain reachable, and immediately report any issues or concerns to their LSWDO before the scheduled distribution. This will help prevent any delays or possible delisting.
Importantly, the SocPen payouts have recently transitioned to the Transfer of Funds (ToF) to the Local Government Units—a strategy that reinforces the government’s commitment to localized service delivery. This move enables LGUs to directly handle the payout process, enabling faster distribution, more flexible scheduling, and stronger accountability at the community level. The DSWD continues to monitor and provide technical assistance to ensure the timely and transparent implementation.
This initiative forms part of the Department’s efforts to bring services closer to the people and empower local government units in protecting the welfare of indigent senior citizens.
