The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has successfully hosted the conduct of the Logistics Capacity Assessment (LCA) and Logistics Services Market Assessment (LSMA) in Seaports and Airports in the region, spearheaded by the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB) of the Central Office, and the United Nations – World Food Programme (UN-WFP).
The 5-day activity, which concluded with the Exit Conference held at the DSWD Field Office Caraga Conference Hall today, August 22, 2025, yielded significant information on the capacity of the region in terms of logistical preparedness for emergency operations, specifically for the entry and movement of humanitarian cargo around Caraga.

During the Exit Conference, DSWD Field Office Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes expressed his gratitude to the UN-WFP for partnering with the Department in the conduct of the said activity. He said that this is very important, especially since Caraga is typhoon-prone, and the result of the assessment would greatly contribute to the preparatory measures of the region for disaster operations.
To also ensure that the results of the said assessments would be cascaded to key stakeholders in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management efforts, the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD), represented by OCD Caraga Operations Chief Diana Lim, was also invited to join during the Exit Conference.
With the important inputs from the NRLMB and the UN-WFP, DSWD Field Office Caraga is confident that it will be able to work with key partners in ensuring the effective flow of the relief efforts in the region.
