The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga delivered 1,000 Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) packs to the Philippine Ports Authority–Port Management Office (PPA-PMO) Agusan on August 26, 2025.
The RTEF packs are self-contained, Halal-certified meals that require no cooking and are safe for immediate consumption. Each box contains a variety of food items such as champorado, arroz caldo, tuna paella, complementary food, canned giniling and pastil, and 2 packs of high-protein bars.
This provision aims to ensure that stranded passengers and other travelers in emergency situations, particularly during disasters, have access to safe and nutritious meals without the need for preparation.
Field Office Caraga, in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. that no one should go hungry during emergencies, continues to do its best to ensure that every Caraganon, and even travelers coming into the region, are safe and have access to food in times of need.
