The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga facilitated a three-day training on establishing and managing Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) for social workers and child development workers in Cabadbaran City from August 6 to 8, 2025.
The training aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, supportive, and age-appropriate environments for children during emergencies and disasters.
Resource persons from DSWD Field Office Caraga discussed case management, child protection, the promotion of children’s rights, the roles and responsibilities of service providers, the provisions of Republic Act 10821 or the Children’s Emergency Relief and Protection Act, and the Comprehensive Emergency Program for Children (CEPC).
The training concluded today with simulation exercises to prepare participants for real-life situations in the course of their service.

Through trainings like these, Field Office Caraga hopes to ensure that children, whether in times of emergency or in normal circumstances, can grow in a safe, secure, and nurturing environment.
