The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Social Marketing Section (SMS), rolled out its SIBYA (Strengthening Information and Broadening Your Awareness) Campaign at Sagbayan National High School, Brgy. Sagbayan, San Miguel, on September 26, 2025.
The SIBYA Campaign is a regionally conceptualized communication strategy designed to bridge local information gaps and deepen public awareness of the agency’s programs and services. Alongside this, the caravan also featured the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3Ti) campaign, an advocacy that seeks to combat fake news and disinformation.
Teachers and student leaders served as the primary audience of the caravan, with the intent of empowering them as community champions who can extend accurate and reliable information to parents, grandparents, and other members of their communities. An open forum was also held, making the activity not only an avenue for information sharing but also an opportunity to address queries and clarify issues raised by the participants.
DSWD Caraga extended its gratitude to Sagbayan National High School, headed by School Principal Mr. Archie Pagaura, for welcoming DSWD Caraga’s Social Marketing Section and supporting the agency’s advocacy.
This initiative forms part of DSWD’s contribution to the government’s whole-of-nation approach—fostering collaboration, ensuring that accurate information reaches the grassroots, and strengthening the link between communities and social protection services.
