WiSupport, or Wireless Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, is an online and phone-based platform that provides accessible psychosocial services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The caravan served as a venue for students to learn about stress, anxiety, depression, and suicide prevention, while encouraging them to open up about their feelings and seek help through the program’s digital platforms.
The activity is part of DSWD’s continuing efforts to promote mental health awareness among young people and to highlight that support is always available. By holding the caravan on the first day of Suicide Prevention Month, the agency underscored its commitment to amplify conversations on mental health and to provide safe spaces for the youth.
The Field Office also extends its sincere gratitude to the Department of Education (DepEd) Caraga for its support in the Field Office’s advocacy, and to all the schools that welcomed WiSupport. Their cooperation, speaks volumes of their shared commitment to champion mental health awareness.
The Field Office further emphasized that the WiSupport Program is open to any invitation from schools wishing to hold the information caravan. In addition, its lines remain open to cater to the needs of anyone who needs someone to listen and provide psychosocial support.
