In recognition of the beneficiaries’ active participation in sustaining the Project LAWA at BINHI site, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Food for Work (FFW) program, distributed a total of 775 family food packs (FFPs) to 250 beneficiaries on September 5, 2025.
Each beneficiary received three FFPs. The recipients came from four barangays: Upper Libas (62), Lower Libas (63), Union (62), and Laurel (63).
The beneficiaries are engaged in various community initiatives under Project LAWA at BINHI, including replanting communal vegetable gardens, maintaining the established nursery, and preparing additional organic concoctions for crop production.
Launched last year, Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) aims to address pressing concerns such as water and food insecurity while enhancing resilience in disaster-prone communities.
True to its mandate, DSWD Field Office Caraga remains committed to maximizing its programs and services to better serve the people and help them thrive in the face of challenges.
