The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga has extended livelihood assistance amounting to Php3 million to 10 Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) during the Regional Federation Assembly of Peace Partners held today, September 8, 2025 at Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City.
In a symbolic turnover, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr, Regional Director Mari-Flor Dollaga, Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes, Agusan del Norte Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell Malbas Amante, Agusan del Sur Governor Santiago Cane Jr., and Surigao del Sur Governor Johnny Ty Pimentel awarded livelihood checks and distributed family food packs to 286 peace partners.
In her message of commitment, RD Dollaga underscored the unwavering support of the agency for former rebels, affirming that they remain a priority sector for DSWD’s interventions.
“Kayo po ay importante sa amin. Salamat sa inyong tanan kay gihatagan mi ninyo og opportunity nga mutrabaho ug ihatag ang tanan serbisyo nga angay para sa inyo. Gusto ko rin pong ibahagi sa inyo, ang lahat ng ito ay hindi magiging possible kung hindi natin tatanawin ang diwa ng bayanihan at pagkakaisa,” she said.
She further emphasized that under the leadership of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, more programs and initiatives will be implemented to ensure inclusive growth and sustained peace in Caraga Region.
“Nais nating tiyakin na ang bawat mamamayan ay hindi mapag-iwanan. Sa pamamagitan ng patuloy na bayanihan, mas mabilis nating makakamtan ang pag-unlad ng ating bansa,” RD Dollaga added.
