A total of 400 residents, including 200 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and 200 non-4Ps beneficiaries, benefitted from a community outreach activity held on August 30, 2025, in Barangay Baan Kilometer 3, Butuan City.
The initiative was spearheaded by Love Radio Butuan in partnership with UniLab, and carried out in close coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Provincial Operations Office of Agusan del Norte. The outreach formed part of continuing efforts to extend direct services to communities by combining government support, private sector assistance, and civil society participation.

The activity featured a wide range of services designed to address both immediate and practical needs of the beneficiaries. These included free legal assistance through the Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) College of Law, medical services such as eye check-ups, electrocardiograms (ECG), and X-rays, as well as personal care services like free haircuts. The availability of both legal and health support underscored the holistic approach of the outreach in improving community well-being.
Aside from professional services, community partners contributed to the event’s success. Virginia Foods provided free meals for participants, while organizers introduced educational and recreational games. The games were not only for entertainment but also aimed to impart practical knowledge, with winners receiving essential prizes such as rice and medicines—directly benefiting households beyond the day’s activity.

DSWD Caraga, through the Provincial Operations Office (POO) of Agusan del Norte, emphasized that the activity served as an example to the importance of convergence. By working closely with media organizations, private companies, and academic institutions, the DSWD ensures that programs such as the 4Ps extend beyond cash grants to create opportunities for empowerment, self-sufficiency, and stronger community bonds.

The event highlighted the enduring spirit of bayanihan, where collective effort among stakeholders continues to deliver concrete and meaningful services for the welfare of the people and the community’s advancement.
