The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Regional Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), has served a total of 31 victims of trafficking in persons (TIP) as of September 2025.
Of the total number, 23 were females, comprising 11 adult women and 12 female children, while 8 were males. The data reflects the continued vulnerability of women, girls and boys, many of whom are targeted for sexual and labor exploitation, and online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

In terms of age distribution, most victims were 18 to 30 years old (13 cases), followed by 13 to 17 years old (11 cases), 0 to 12 years old (5 cases), and 31 to 59 years old (2 cases). This trend highlights that traffickers often prey on individuals in their productive or school years, exploiting their economic dependence or limited awareness.

The Regional Recovery and Reintegration Program for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP) is a special project of the DSWD that provides comprehensive psychosocial, social, and economic support to survivors of trafficking, enabling them to rebuild their lives and reintegrate safely into their communities. Its mission is to uphold the dignity, rights, and welfare of trafficked persons by helping them recover from trauma and regain self-sufficiency.

DSWD Caraga continues to strengthen its partnerships with the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking – Violence Against Women and Children (RIACAT-VAWC), the local government units, law enforcement agencies, and civil society organizations to prevent human trafficking and protect vulnerable groups, particularly women and children.

The Department urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases of trafficking through RRPTP Hotline 0949-779-4536 or by coordinating with the nearest Police Stations and Help Desks.
