The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Food-for-Work (FFW) program, distributed 2,793 family food packs (FFPs) today to beneficiaries in Basilisa and Libjo, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI).
In Basilisa, a total of 900 FFPs were handed out to residents of Barangay Diegas, Barangay New Nazareth, and Barangay Ritaglenda, with each beneficiary receiving 3 FFPs. Meanwhile, in Libjo, 1,893 FFPs were distributed to beneficiaries in Barangay General Aguinaldo (100), Barangay San Antonio (100), and Barangay Llamera (281).
The food packs serve as compensation for the beneficiaries’ work in the Project LAWA at BINHI sites, supporting local initiatives while ensuring that the community members’ contributions are recognized.
Through programs like FFW, DSWD Caraga continues to empower communities, promote sustainable development, and provide much-needed support to families in Dinagat Islands.
