The activity was spearheaded by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Caraga, in collaboration with the Butuan City Jail, to provide centralized access to government services for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
The initiative formed part of the observance of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW), which highlights the dedication of correctional officers, workers, and partner agencies in promoting justice, rehabilitation, and transformation among PDLs.

Alongside DSWD Caraga, participating agencies included the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), and the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD)-Butuan, with representatives from the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) and Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA). Legal consultations for PDLs were also conducted in the afternoon.

JO2 Janice J. Cordova, Help Desk Officer and ALS Implementer, expressed gratitude to the DSWD for its participation, saying, “Heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for extending compassion and support through your participation in the Serbisyo Caravan sa Piitan. Your dedication to serve reminds us that true public service goes beyond walls—touching lives, restoring hope, and empowering every PDL.”

The annual observance aims to raise awareness about the conditions of PDLs and the correctional system, as well as encourage public participation in their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
