The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) has successfully conducted the Training of Trainers on the Enhanced Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) from October 14 to 17, 2025, at Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City.

The activity, conducted in compliance with the directive of the DSWD Secretary, aims to strengthen the implementation of the enhanced SWDI across all field offices. It was participated in by Provincial Links (PLs), Social Welfare Officers III (SWO IIIs), Cluster Links, Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Officers (PMEOs), and Technical Focals from the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO).

As part of the cascading strategy, the trained trainers are set to conduct rollout trainings for the City and Municipal Links in the five provinces of the Caraga Region in the coming weeks. This ensures that all field staff are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively administer the enhanced SWDI tool for accurate household assessment and improved case management under the 4Ps Program.

The Social Welfare and Development Indicator (SWDI) is a case management tool used by the 4Ps Program to assess the changes or progress in the economic and social well-being of its beneficiaries.

The enhanced SWDI tool is expected to provide a more comprehensive and holistic assessment of the 4Ps beneficiaries’ level of well-being. The Department will be able to better identify household needs, monitor progress, and design responsive interventions that promote sustainable development and self-sufficiency among program beneficiaries.
