The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joins the Medical Mission and Caravan of Services for senior citizens in celebration of the National Elderly Filipino Week 2025 on October 3, at the Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center, Butuan City.

The activity offers free medical consultations, blood and laboratory tests, massage services, and other health-related interventions for walk-in senior citizens.

DSWD Caraga also facilitated queries on the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program and the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS). Advocacy materials were likewise distributed to raise awareness on programs and services available for the elderly.

Spearheaded by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Butuan City in partnership with the Regional Advisory Board on Senior Citizens and private partners, the caravan runs until 3:00 p.m. today and is part of the nationwide observance of the National Elderly Filipino Week, which highlights the importance of promoting the welfare, dignity, and active participation of older persons in society.
