The Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, in partnership with the Office of the Congressional Representative of the Lone District of Dinagat Islands, conducted an exploratory meeting in Barangay Wilson, San Jose on November 20, 2025.
The meeting discussed the potential technology transfer of TBTP to the province, including the possibility of implementing the program’s mechanisms, processes, and methods in the municipalities of Dinagat Islands.
Lone district of Dinagat Islands Congressional Representative Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao personally attended the meeting and expressed her full support for the possible adoption of the technology transfer in the province. Representatives and municipal coordinators from all seven municipalities of Dinagat Islands were also present.
TBTP Regional Monitor for Caraga, Serina Marie Dola, shared the program’s standards, key components, implementation requirements, and opportunities for partnership with the provincial local government.
This meeting marked an important step toward expanding the program’s implementation in the region and ensuring that more students, learners, and parents can benefit from the services provided by TBTP.
