The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a consultation dialogue with medical facilities to harmonize understanding of agency policies on providing medical assistance to clients undergoing dialysis under the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law.

A total of 18 partners participated in the activity: 16 representatives from various medical facilities across the region, one from the Department of Health (DOH), and one from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

The dialogue aimed to strengthen partnership and coordination mechanisms between DSWD Caraga and medical service providers, ensuring that clients in crisis situations receive proper medical support in line with UHC provisions and existing DSWD policies.

Participants discussed current challenges, shared best practices, and documented key issues and recommendations for endorsement to higher authorities and concerned agencies.
The initiative underscores DSWD Caraga’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and ensuring that clients needing medical assistance receive timely and appropriate support.
