The Pag-abot Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga provided livelihood assistance to three families who were previously in street situations in Butuan City today, November 25, 2025.
The livelihood assistance will serve as start-up support for the beneficiaries’ chosen sources of income to prevent them from returning to street life. Prior to receiving the assistance, the beneficiaries underwent a thorough assessment conducted by the Pag-abot Program Caraga to ensure that the interventions provided were appropriate to their needs.
To ensure the proper use of the assistance, the program will continue to conduct monitoring among the beneficiaries. This includes regular updates on their situation and assessment of the progress of their livelihood activities.
The Pag-abot Program is an initiative of DSWD, under the leadership of Secretary Rex Gatchalian, that provides interventions for individuals and families living or staying on the streets. It aims to help them leave street situations, start anew, and strengthen their security and livelihood.
