Distribution of Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) to stranded passengers.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted the distribution of  Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) to passengers stranded at Nasipit Port, temporarily housed at the Barangay Talisay Gym in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, on November 4, 2025.

Due to strong winds and high waves brought by Typhoon Tino, port operations were temporarily suspended, forcing many passengers to remain in the area. In response, DSWD, in coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Nasipit, immediately provided food assistance to ensure that affected passengers had access to meals while awaiting the improvement of weather conditions.

The stranded individuals were passengers of a vessel originally scheduled to depart at 7:00 PM on November 3, 2025. However, as a precautionary measure, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) suspended all sea travel to prevent maritime accidents amid the adverse weather conditions. Based on initial advisories, sea travel is expected to resume on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

DSWD Caraga continues to closely monitor the situation and coordinate with concerned agencies to provide appropriate assistance until passengers are able to safely resume their journeys.
