The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP), provided corrective eyeglasses to learners of the program with vision needs yesterday, December 15, 2025, at A. Jamora Optical Clinic in Butuan City.

A total of nine (9) learners received corrective eyeglasses during the activity. The distribution of glasses was conducted as part of TBTP’s efforts to support the children’s learning and ensure their proper participation in school activities.

The activity was attended by DSWD Caraga Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jean Paul Parajes, Department of Education (DepEd) Division Reading Coordinator Marylou Recososa, and Dr. Joseph Lawrence Jamora, who served as a partner in the successful implementation of the initiative.

The distribution reflects the continuing efforts of DSWD Caraga, together with partner agencies and institutions, to provide appropriate and timely support to learners. Under TBTP, interventions that directly contribute to learning and daily school participation continue to be promoted.
