Seven (7) beneficiaries of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga are set to welcome a joyful Christmas and New Year after undergoing free specialized corrective surgery and comprehensive medical care for cleft palate at Tebow CURE Children’s Hospital in Davao City.
This marks a significant change in their lives, particularly in improving their speech and self-confidence. Through the surgery and medical services, the children are now better prepared for school and for interacting within their communities.
Among the beneficiaries are two (2) learners from the municipality of General Luna and three (3) from the municipality of Dapa in Siargao Island, as well as two (2) from Butuan City.
The TBTP Caraga Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) facilitated the identification, coordination, and referral of the beneficiaries in partnership with various institutions to ensure that children who are most in need receive timely and appropriate medical services.
The initiative aims to provide children with proper treatment to improve their health, speech ability, and overall quality of life.
