Participants of the PDRA Meeting, including DSWD Caraga and its partner agencies

As Tropical Depression (TD) Ada is being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, approximately 600 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga participated in the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) meeting hosted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Caraga via virtual platform.

The PDRA serves as a vital mechanism for proactively assessing the possible impacts of hazards such as typhoons and flooding in vulnerable areas. It provides critical information that enables government agencies and partner organizations to strengthen preparedness, enhance response measures, and implement timely mitigation strategies, ultimately to save lives and minimize losses.
In line with preparedness and response efforts, DSWD Field Office Caraga remains on standby for any untoward incidents, with sufficient prepositioned family food packs strategically stored in its warehouses, including those located in various local government units (LGUs).
As of January 14, 2025, Field Office Caraga has a total of 166,867 family food packs (FFPs) available in its warehouses, with continuous replenishment ongoing in LGU warehouses. The office remains ready and committed to delivering prompt assistance to meet the needs of every Caraganon.
