The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Policy and Plans Division–Technical Assistance and Other Related Support Services(TAAORS), successfully conducted the 2nd Knowledge Fair 2025 on November 20, 2025, at Watergate Hotel, Butuan City.
The event gathered members of the Knowledge Management Team (KMT), authors, system developers, and partner agencies committed to advancing knowledge-based practices in the region.
Anchored on the theme “Harnessing Knowledge for Resilient, Inclusive, and Empowered Caraga Communities,” the Knowledge Fair aimed to strengthen networks and collaborations that support effective knowledge sharing and innovation within the social welfare and development sector.
Key highlights of the event were the presentation of innovative knowledge products designed to enhance program implementation and service delivery. These include the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Individual Performance Appraisal Tracking Hub (4Ps PATH), the Pay-out Administration and Information Documentation System (PAID), the Leading Advancement through Networked Tracking of Accomplishments and Waypoints (LANTAW), the MYDSWD, and the KALAHIgalaan.
Other major parts of the forum included the Sharing of the Panel’s Insights and Reactions, presentation of the LGU Best Practice: Youth CORE, and discussion on Building a Culture of Continuous Learning.
Participants were also given the opportunity to explore various Knowledge Product Booth Displays showcasing outputs from different DSWD Caraga programs.
A significant milestone of the fair was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DSWD Caraga and members of the Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (SWD LNet). The signing formalizes continued cooperation and strengthens the region’s collective efforts in producing, sharing, and utilizing knowledge products that support public service excellence.
In his closing message, Assistant Regional Director for Administration Tristan Teleni emphasized the importance of collaboration and its impact on social welfare and development in communities.
“This gathering has not only showcased exemplary knowledge products and KM initiatives but has also strengthened our connections across national government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, and individual experts. Let us carry forward the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and excellence that has characterized this event. May the lessons learned inspire each of us to integrate knowledge into our work, foster a culture of shared learning, and continue advancing social welfare and development in our communities,” he said.
DSWD FO Caraga expressed its gratitude to all participating partners and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and collaboration for a more resilient and empowered Caraga region.
