The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS/Listahanan) and the Walang Gutom Program, conducted a two-day on September 18–19, 2025, at JB Nature Farm and Resort, Barangay Sukailang, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
The orientation, facilitated by NHTS Team led by NHTS Head Mr. Adelito T. Mendoza, aimed to equip enumerators with the necessary knowledge and guidance to effectively perform their roles under the program.
The Special On-Demand Application Assessment seeks to determine whether existing Walang Gutom Program households qualify as “food poor” based on program guidelines.
Following the orientation, validation is set to begin next week, covering 454 households across various municipalities in Surigao del Norte.
