Members of the Bayogo Indigenous Women Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA) have officially commenced operations of their Chicken Egg Production project in Brgy. Bayogo, Madrid, Surigao del Sur, following the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and formal turnover of the project to the association today, February 24, 2026.

Present during the ceremony were Mayor Juan Paolo Lopez, together with municipal and barangay officials, as well as representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

In addition to the project turnover, the Manga Mahigugmaon SLP Association also formally launched its Broiler Production enterprise after receiving Php 100,000.00 in incentives under the Product Diversification Development Grant (PDDG).

In his message of support, Mayor Lopez expressed his pride in his constituents for venturing into business and qualifying for additional grant assistance.

“I am so very proud of all of you. It feels like we were just planning this yesterday, and now it’s finally here. There may be many challenges that you will go through, but if you all work together, it is not impossible. We can do this – we will solve it,” Mayor Lopez said.

The successful launch of these livelihood projects underscores the continued commitment of SLP in empowering communities. Through strong partnerships with local government units and community associations, SLP remains steadfast in promoting sustainable income-generating activities that uplift the lives of vulnerable and marginalized sectors.
