Raquel Delos Santos and Anabel Ortega Anon, former members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Lingig, Surigao del Sur, received the Seed Capital Fund under the Sustainable Livelihood Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, an opportunity they turned into a fresh start.
Ms. Raquel, a solo parent and widow, strives to support her family through her small store and by selling street food in their community. Through the Seed Capital Fund she received, she was able to start her Homemade Chili Garlic Sauce business, providing an additional source of income for her household.
Meanwhile, Ms. Anabel, who manages a small sari-sari store and sells balut in their area, has also developed her own product, “Suka ni Anabel,” which was made possible through the financial assistance she received from the program.
Their stories serve as a reminder that even modest financial assistance, when managed properly and paired with sincere determination, can become a seed of success. #
