The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), awarded additional grants under the Product Diversification Development Grant (PDDG) to two Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

The Malibhu Malambuon SLPA and Madasigon Sta. Cruz SLPA each received ₱100,000.00 to expand and strengthen their existing enterprises. The PDDG is granted to associations that have demonstrated strong organizational performance, sustainability, and consistent compliance with the SLP Sustainability Plan for two consecutive years.

During the municipal turnover ceremony, Malibhu Malambuon SLPA President Felmar Duarte Ohaw expressed her gratitude to DSWD for the continued support and trust extended to their association, committing to further improve and sustain their enterprise.

Vice Mayor Jane Plaza also commended the associations for their dedication and sound management, noting that their sustained operations reflect effective leadership and collective effort.

With the additional grant, Madasigon Sta. Cruz SLPA acquired another tricycle unit, increasing their fleet to five units. Meanwhile, Malibhu Malambuon SLPA fully operationalized its Agricultural Supply Store and expanded into rice trading.

The initiative highlights DSWD Field Office Caraga’s continued support to community-based enterprises in strengthening sustainability and promoting economic self-sufficiency.
