Partner beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga Project LAWA at BINHI in Barangay Diaz, Tubajon, Province of Dinagat Islands have started the partial harvest of their aquaculture project.
A total of 60 kilograms of tilapia were sold yesterday. Harvesting is conducted only upon confirmed orders to ensure sustainability and proper management of the produce.
Implemented last year, the LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) project continues to be sustained by partner beneficiaries who actively manage and maintain the aquaculture initiative.
The project aims to address food and water insecurity in disaster-prone communities while helping beneficiaries strengthen their livelihoods and resilience.
LAWA at BINHI is one of the initiatives of the DSWD Field Office Caraga, which continues to support disaster-vulnerable communities across the region.
