The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga joined the 1st Quarter Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) Full Council Meeting held on March 17, 2026, at Almont Hotel, Butuan City.
In his message, Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Jean Paul Parajes emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and preparedness among all stakeholders.
“As we move forward in 2026, let us continue strengthening our coordination, improving our systems, and ensuring that when disasters strike, our response is swift, compassionate, and united. To all our partner agencies, local governments, responders, and volunteers, thank you for your unwavering commitment. Your dedication reminds us that even in the midst of storms and floods, the spirit of bayanihan remains alive,” ARDO Parajes said.
The quarterly full council meeting plays a vital role in aligning strategies, sharing updates, and reinforcing inter-agency coordination in disaster preparedness, response, and early recovery efforts across the region. It serves as a platform for member agencies to assess current capacities, address operational gaps, and enhance mechanisms for efficient and timely disaster response.
Through strengthened partnerships and continuous capacity-building initiatives, the council remains committed to safeguarding communities and ensuring that vulnerable populations receive immediate, compassionate, and well-coordinated assistance during times of crisis.
