The Pag-abot Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a reach-out operation in Prosperidad on March 17, 2026, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Prosperidad.

A total of three families living in street situations were profiled and are currently undergoing a series of assessments by the program’s social worker to determine the appropriate assistance and benefits they may receive. The families have reportedly been living underneath a bridge for approximately two years.

The activity aims to reduce the risks and hardships brought about by living on the streets by providing appropriate services, protection, and opportunities for recovery and reintegration.

The Pag-abot Program is an expanded initiative of the DSWD that seeks to deliver holistic interventions for individuals in street situations (ISS), including support for their safe reintegration and the provision of livelihood assistance to help prevent them from returning to street living.
