The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga continues its preparations for the Technology Transfer and large-scale implementation of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) in the region through an alignment meeting and courtesy visit held on March 23, 2026, at the Provincial of Dinagat Islands Congressional District Office.

The activity was attended by municipal coordinators and 20 personnel from the TBTP Caraga Regional Program Management Office (RPMO), led by Regional Program Coordinator Jovy Dela Cruz, to harmonize strategies for the remaining community assemblies in the province. The meeting also aimed to ensure proper coordination and alignment of activities for the implementation of the program.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the smooth conduct of program orientations, including the implementation of Basta Beripikado, Mabilis ang Serbisyo (BBM Serbisyo) for faster beneficiary verification and profiling.

Meanwhile, Province of Dinagat Islands Lone District Congressional Representative Arlene “Kaka” Bag-ao once again expressed her support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of strengthening literacy as a foundation for the long-term development of communities in the province.

“I am truly excited and hopeful that this program will become successful, as it will bring meaningful change to the lives of beneficiaries and strengthen literacy in our community,” said Cong. Bag-ao.

As part of the succeeding steps, the TBTP-RPMO Caraga will focus on intensified coordination with local partners and the smooth conduct of the remaining community assemblies to ensure the continuous and efficient implementation of the program in the province.
