On March 9, 2026, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Sustainable Livelihood Program in partnership with the 26th Infantry Battalion facilitated the forging of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between three Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) and an egg buyer in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur.

Under the agreement, the buyer committed to purchase all the chicken eggs produced by the three SLP associations, namely; Mahapag Poultry Farm SLPA, Baylohanon SLPA, and Sinag Nuevohanon SLPA, whose associations operate a chicken egg production in San Luis, Agusan del Sur.

The forging of this partnership resulted from the monitoring conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) among SLPAs within their area of responsibility. Through their assessment, they identified a key challenge faced by the associations, the difficulty of selling their egg produce due to increasing market competition.

With the signing of the MOU, a stable and assured market for the poultry products of the associations is now secured.
