The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Provincial Operations Office in Surigao del Sur, participated in the Training Writeshop on Crafting Extension and Research Proposals for External Funding on March 17, 2026, at North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) Main Campus in Tandag City.
The activity gathered faculty extension coordinators, researchers, and extensionists from various NEMSU campuses. Also present were University President Dr. Nemesio Loayon and representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), highlighting multi-sectoral collaboration in research and development initiatives.
During the writeshop, SLP Provincial Coordinator Arjay Peñaroyo presented the program’s guidelines, funding requirements, and potential areas for collaboration, emphasizing opportunities to support community-based livelihood initiatives through strengthened partnerships between government and academic institutions.
The activity builds on the existing partnership between DSWD-SLP and NEMSU-Tandag formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in 2025, aimed at enhancing the implementation of livelihood interventions in the province.
