The Community Assemblies and Program Orientation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) were successfully concluded in Del Carmen, General Luna, Siargao Island, Cantilan, and Madrid, Surigao del Sur from March 9 to 13, 2026.

The community assemblies aimed to explain to parents and guardians the objectives, processes, and key components of the implementation of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program, including their role in supporting their children’s learning and the benefits of the program for student-beneficiaries.

In total, 909 parents and guardians from various barangays in the said municipalities participated in the community assemblies. This forms part of the wider implementation of the program in the region, which aims to reach more than 4,200 parents and guardians across different implementation sites in Caraga.

Meanwhile, TBTP continuously utilized the Basta Beripikado, Mabilis ang Serbisyo (BBM Serbisyo) as a mechanism for validating and profiling beneficiaries. The online platform helps verify whether clients already possess a National ID, making the verification process and service delivery faster and more efficient.

The platform also serves as a tool for collecting necessary documents, parental consent, and beneficiary profiling to ensure organized and efficient management of program beneficiaries.

TBTP Caraga continues its preparations to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the 20-day tutoring sessions for the program’s beneficiaries across the region.
