As part of the ongoing implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga conducted a monitoring visit this week on Cash-for-Work activities in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.
This monitoring aims to assess the progress of project implementation, ensure that activities are carried out according to plan, verify the proper utilization of resources, and determine the immediate impact of the project on the partner-beneficiaries and their communities.
The project covers various interventions, including community gardens, fruit-bearing tree planting, aquaculture, and the repair of jetmatic pumps. A total of 405 partner-beneficiaries are actively engaged in these activities across four barangays: Barangay Macalang, Barangay Malapong, Barangay Malpoc, and Barangay Matabao.
Project LAWA at BINHI (Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) aims to address food and water insecurity in disaster-vulnerable communities while empowering partner-beneficiaries through sustainable and community-driven interventions.
The Field Office Caraga also recognizes the collaborative efforts of the Local Government Unit of Buenavista, together with its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), the PLGU Agusan del Norte, and other stakeholders, in ensuring the effective implementation and sustainability of the project.
