The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), supports the establishment of a Tourism One-Stop Shop by the Lawig Bretania Sustainable Livelihood Program Association (SLPA), which is set to rise in the municipality of San Agustin, Surigao del Sur.
The project was realized after the association qualified for a livelihood grant amounting to ₱900,000.00, which will fund the construction of the facility.
As part of the preparatory phase, a Pre-Procurement and Pre-Construction Conference was conducted with the participation of Municipal Engineer John Diosdado Lamela Jr., the project foreman, and representatives of the association.
Once completed, the Tourism One-Stop Shop will serve as a hub for showcasing and marketing locally produced goods, including mat weaving products, dried fish, potted plants, flowers, handcrafted souvenirs, and coffee.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the income-generating capacity of SLPA members while contributing to local tourism by providing accessible, community-based products for visitors.
