The Capability Building for Tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDWs) officially commenced yesterday, April 13, 2026, at Caraga State University and will run until April 17, 2026, as preparation for the upcoming 20-day implementation of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program.

The activity aims to further strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of Tutors and YDWs for the effective implementation of the program.

Throughout the five-day training, key topics such as child development, literacy and reading strategies, facilitation skills, actual tutorial sessions for children, and engagement with parents will be emphasized.

The activities also include hands-on workshops, simulation exercises, and group discussions to deepen participants’ understanding and better prepare them for the actual 20-day tutorial and parenting sessions.

At the same time, the Tutors and YDWs also carried out essential documentation processes such as profiling and validation through BBM Serbisyo, which are vital to the smooth and organized implementation of the program.

Through this Capability Building activity, Tutors and YDWs are expected to become more prepared and effective in delivering quality services to children and communities across the region.
