A total of 109 elementary schools received learning kits from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga’s Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program (TBTP) during the simultaneous distribution activity conducted in Siargao Island and Butuan City from May 5 to 7, 2026.

Of the total number of recipient schools, 50 were from the municipalities of Dapa, General Luna, and Del Carmen in Siargao Island, while 59 were from Butuan City. received learners’ kits, workbooks, and Nanay–Tatay Modules.

These materials are intended to strengthen children’s reading development through the active participation of parents and guardians in home-based learning support. It will be utilized throughout the 20-day tutoring sessions and Nanay–Tatay Teacher Sessions.

In support of field implementation, learning kits were also provided to 311 Tutors and Youth Development Workers (YDW) from Surigao del Norte State University – Del Carmen Campus and 357 YDWs from Caraga State University – Main Campus. The kits contain essential tools and reference materials to ensure the structured and effective delivery of tutorial sessions in the communities.

The initiative underscores the program’s continuing effort to strengthen both school-based and home-based learning systems through collaboration among schools, families, and communities, in support of improved literacy outcomes among young learners.
