The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office Caraga through the Social Technology Unit, successfully conducted the Online Roll-out Training on the Comprehensive Intervention Against Gender-Based Violence (CIAGV) from May 11 to 13, 2026 via Google Meet, participated in by representatives from the Local Government Unit of Bislig City.
Among the participants were members of the Local Committee Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) and Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), Barangay VAW Desk Officers, social workers, police personnel, health workers, women’s associations, civil society organizations (CSOs), and other sectoral groups.
The training aimed to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and competencies of frontline service providers and partner stakeholders in addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) through a coordinated, gender-responsive, rights-based, and survivor-centered approach.
The discussions focused on the different modules of the CIAGV Program, which provides a comprehensive framework for the prevention, response, and reintegration of GBV cases in communities.
The training also served as a venue to further enhance inter-agency collaboration, clarify the roles and responsibilities of service providers, and strengthen coordination mechanisms in responding to GBV cases.
The CIAGV Program envisions women, men, girls, and boys with reduced vulnerabilities to gender-based violence through improved access to quality response and reintegration services, strengthened support systems, and active participation in preventive initiatives.
Through this initiative, the Department reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Local Government Units and strengthening community-based mechanisms toward building safer, more inclusive, and gender-sensitive communities.
